In the cooling of a hot surface by means of single water droplets impinging from above, the Leidenfrost temperature was measured as a function of pressure, below atmospheric pressure. Heat fluxes and temperature transients were recorded as functions of pressure, with relatively high time resolution, as allowed by the fast response to thermal transients of the test section and measuring equiqment especially developed for this purpose.
